Virgil Butler, who wrote a blog titled "The Cyberactivist", recently passed away (15 December 2006).
He was a whistleblower at a Tyson slaughterhouse in Arkansas, back in 2003. Though he worked at Tyson for most of his life, he was so disgusted by what went on there that he dedicated his life to exposing and fighting animal abuse. In fact, he and his wife were instrumental in the campaign against KFC to pressure Tyson to change their brutal ways. With the help of PeTA, of course.
Anyway, it's very sad. He died unexpectedly. His wife has recently updated the blog but you can click the link to read all the archives if you're interested.
